Spring 2010 updates

1 Comment 28 April 2010

So this blog here thing/site has been a bit neglected, so I thought it would be appropriate to bring  everyone up to speed on what Yarn Owl is up to. As of right now we are working on a full length record which is set to be released sometime in the near future. We have decided not to release the  promised “stay warm” EP at this time and to continue on with a full length full of completely new material! This is super exciting and exhausting process but we think you will like it.  The record has a title but I can’t tell ya it now, it also will have somewhere in the range of 13 songs.

In other news, we have been playing shows all over the NW this winter and spring. We are super excited to be playing the red room again in Kennewick with LA favs Everybody was in the French resistance…now. Listen to the HERE. Yarn Owl is also slatted to play some festivals this summer including the famed Folklife held at Seattle center. We will be playing the vera stage on May 29th.

Stay tuned for more updates and hopefully some tour diaries etc.

Keep in touch and see ya a show soon.

Thanks for the update. Stay warm is such a great collection of songs! Can’t wait for the new album and to hear all the new material.

Hopefully you guys can play a few more PULLMAN shows this summer.

I understand how you all probably feel about Pullman, it can be cold and unreceptive to a fresh sound. Just know that some of us here really do appreciate your talents, we love your music, and would love to see and hear you at home.

Songs like “Yarn Blues” and “Piece Of The Pie” fit the pop mold, but some jazzy riffs slip in on “Traveling”. — Andrew Fenstermaker, FensePost
